It’s Not Too Late To Get Your Body Beach Ready!

Summer is definitely in full swing! However, if you’re of the mind that it’s too late to begin working on your beach body, you’re not entirely correct. Of course, “going to the beach” season is here already. However, there are many things you can do to get your body in the type of shape that you’d be proud to show off at the beach. For most individuals, the “perfect beach body” is one that is equal parts smooth and fit. Let’s work on the “fit” part first, shall we?

Stop snacking.

It’s just that simple. It doesn’t sound like that much of a fun idea. Nevertheless, the less unnecessary calories you ingest, the better your opportunity to lose weight will be. The AFPA (American Fitness Professionals and Associates) advises people to eat protein with every meal in order to increase muscle mass. They also alert us that even “healthy snacking” can prevent you from losing the pounds you want to lose.

“A few quick bites of healthy food might not seem like much, but the rushed and often mindless way in which most people snack can be bad for their beach body progress,” reads their website, “A few extra calories here and there add up quickly and can cause you to overeat unintentionally. Instead of snacking, sit down to a balanced meal three or four times a day. It is much easier to keep track of your consumption if you have distinct meal times.”

Say no to booze.

We know. It’s another “you’ve got to be kidding me” request. Considering that summertime is the time of year when drinks are regularly flowing on the patio, it’s understandable if turning down alcohol is not on your menu. However, attaining the beach body you want won’t come easy if you’re filling it with cocktails, wine and beer.

“With every sip of alcohol, you are ingesting unnecessary calories,” informs the AFPA, “In fact, a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that men consume an extra 433 calories on days when they have just a couple of drinks. Plus, alcohol tends to lower our inhibitions and make us less likely to stick to our diets. If leanness is the key to your beach body, steer clear of the bar.”

Use shaving gel and a high-quality razor for shaving.

Moving on from the “fit” category to the “smooth”, you won’t be surprised to learn that shaving is the most popular form of hair removal for most people. However, not all shaving routines are created equal. To get a good, close shave, it’s important to apply a lot of shaving gel and use a good razor.

“Apply a shaving gel all over your legs to help prevent nicks and scrapes,” advises Joanna Goddard on the A Cup Of Jo blog, “Gels create a moisturizing lather and, of course, help you keep track of where you still need to shave.”

Consider laser hair removal.

If you’re of the mind that shaving is painful – you’re not alone. In addition to razor bumps, ingrown hairs, nicks, cuts and scratches, shaving can be costly.
