Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Excessive sweating, known as hyperhidrosis, can cause embarrassment and inconvenience. Treat this condition with Botox, a natural, purified protein that can temporarily block the chemical responsible for activating the body’s sweat glands.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer complimentary consultations?

Yes! Before any treatment, we offer a complimentary consultation during which we discuss your concerns and goals, outline treatment options, and develop a customized treatment plan.

  • Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No, a referral is not required to meet with our clinic’s doctor.

  • Who is a good candidate for this treatment?

Good candidates are not pregnant or currently breastfeeding. They also cannot have myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome, or any neuromuscular disorder.

  • How does this treatment work?

Botox (OnabotulinumtoxinA) blocks, or interrupts, the chemical responsible for activating the body’s sweat glands, “turning off” sweating in the injected area. Botox injections are very shallow, meaning that the medicine is injected just below the surface of the skin, where it remains.

  • How long does this treatment last?

Every patient is different, but for most patients the treatment lasts from three to six months. Repeated treatments prolong the effects of the treatment.

  • When will I start to see results?

In one day, your body will experience reduced sweating, but it may take up to seven days for the treatment to be fully effective. In some cases, patients require a second injection if the first does not adequately diminish the sweating.
