Laser Hair Removal

Why Winter Is The Perfect Season For Laser Hair Removal

Happy New Year! On behalf of the entire Aurora Skin & Vein team, we hope that your 2023 has already gotten off to an amazing start. Here’s hoping that this year is your most joyous one yet! As always, we would only be too happy to assist you with any and all of your beauty and skin care goals. Is being smoother one of them?

Our clinic’s Laser Hair Removal treatments utilize the LightSheer DUET. It makes use of state-of-the-art technology via diode lasers with vacuum-assist technology. You can quickly, comfortably and effectively remove unwanted hair for good. Since it’s the winter time, it is the perfect time of year for laser hair removal! Let’s discuss why.

It gives you time to show off your results.

Laser hair removal requires several treatments. Optimum results are achieved after a series of sessions that can take a few months to complete. We’re in the month of January. Therefore, you have a four to five month window when you can keep your body covered. When May, June and July hit, the weather will be warm enough for you to expose your skin. At that point, you’ll have the ability to showcase your smooth and silky look without revealing the awkward “in between” phase.

“You’ll need to undergo a series of laser hair removal treatments spaced a few weeks apart to achieve optimal results,” affirms Emerald Coast Magazine, “The average time it takes to see results is three months, and the results only improve after that. If you begin your laser hair removal treatments in the fall or winter, by the time the warm weather arrives, you’ll have achieved up to 90 percent permanent reduction in hair growth.”

It protects your skin from getting tanned.

Naturally, the winter time is a time to cover up. Cold temperatures make it so that short-sleeved t-shirts and shorts are kept tucked away in your drawers at home. This is excellent for your skin. When you expose your skin to the sun, it tans. This makes it harder for the lasers used during laser hair removal treatments to do their jobs.

As Emerald Coast Magazine explains, “laser hair removal works best on dark hair and pale skin. So if you tan, the effectiveness of treatments significantly decreases. If your skin is tanned, then the setting on the laser needs to be reduced, rendering it less effective. During the fall and winter months, there is less chance your skin will be exposed to the sun. What’s more, after each laser hair removal treatment, you’ll need to keep the targeted areas of your body out of sunlight.”

Optimum results require a couple of days of hair growth.

During the summer, we tend to shave quite a bit. Naturally, we all want that smooth and silky look when we’re exposing our arms and legs by wearing tank tops and skirts. However, in order for laser hair removal treatments to be as effective as possible, we can’t shave our unwanted hair as often as we would like. During the winter, there’s no dire need to shave since we generally keep covered.
