As we noted a couple of weeks ago, winter is the perfect season for laser hair removal. That’s because it is the season of keeping covered. You see, when using a laser to treat skin, it’s always best that the skin be given the opportunity to be at its palest. The less sun it gets exposed to, the better.
Why is limited sun exposure a good thing for laser hair removal?
Lasers increase their efficiently when there is a stark contrast between the colour of the hair and the colour of the skin. During the summer, when we are prone to exposing our skin to the sun, our skin becomes darker. This makes it more difficult for the laser to penetrate the dark hair follicles. By regularly tanning our legs, arms, backs and faces, we present less-than-ideal situations for laser hair removal.
